Let’s Go Yum Cha
In Hong Kong, people can meet spontaneously with just a single message. For the aged who have immigrated to the UK with their children, they usually assist their children with household chores and take care of their grandchildren. It’s challenging for them to meet with old friends who are far away. Especially when they may not speak the local language and cannot travel far without assistance. It is not that easy for the aged to go “Yum Cha” because traditional Chinese restaurants are no longer nearby. Some Hongkongers organize activities for the elderly, helping them rebuild their social lives, support each other, and adapt to the new environment.
